EastEnders broadcasts after Mick Janine’s wedding

EastEnders Spoilers follow.

On tonight’s episode (December 23) of EastEndersviewers finally got to see the aftermath of Mick Carter and Janine Butcher’s wedding – and it looks like Janine might finally be caught.

After a day of second-guessing on Mick’s part, and after Shirley Carter’s attempts to try to stop the two from marrying, Mick and Janine finally take their vows and marry on the BBC soap.

As fans will remember, Mick’s ex-wife Linda (Kelly Bright) threatened Janine over the intense relationship she still shared with Mick. Consequently, Janine manipulated everyone in Albert Square into believing that Linda caused the car accident they were in in June.

As Linda suffered amnesia as a result of the crash, she believes she was drunk behind the wheel and caused the accident, unaware that Janine had anything to do with it. Linda also lost custody of her daughter, thanks to Janine’s machinations.

During tonight’s episode, Shirley tries to stop Mick and Janine’s wedding in hopes of exposing Janine’s “secret lover” named “Steve”. However, it turns out that he simply sold Janine a bar so that she and Mick could start a new life together.

Since Shirley basically tried to ruin Mick and Janine’s wedding, Mick tells his mother.

“I get it: I hated her from the start. You see things that aren’t there. It’s all in your nut,” he told her.

Later, when Shirley asks Scarlett if she knows about the bar and if this is the picture she was hiding earlier, Scarlett lies and says yes.

But now it seems that Janine’s lies may come back to affect her, as Shirley discovers Scarlett’s diary, where she finds a picture of Frankie. Looking closer, she sees Janine in the background, throwing something in the trash, which may be the thing that exposes Janine’s web of manipulation and lies.

But what happens now? Will Janine’s lies finally catch up to her? There is only one way to find out.

EastEnders It broadcasts Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show is also streaming on BBC iPlayer.
