The cast of Call the Midwife’s Christmas special features lots of guest stars

Call the Midwife is back on BBC One on Christmas Day, and it promises to leave viewers in tears of joy. It’s Christmas 1967, Poplar is back to normal after the train crash, and Matthew Aylward (Oli Rix) is delighted that Trixie Franklin (Helen George) has returned. has everything you need to know about who will be joining the main cast.

Who is in the Call the Midwife Christmas special?

The midwives move the clinic to a new building for the special ceremony and all the main cast are expected to return.

Sister Julianne (Jenny Agutter), Phyllis Crane (Linda Bassett), and Sister Monica Joan (Judy Parfitt) all appear.

Also returning will be Shelagh Turner (Laura Maine), Lucille Anderson (Leonie Elliott), Dr. Patrick Turner (Stephen McGann), Reggie Jackson (Daniel Lowery) and Fred Buckle (Cliff Parisi).

They will be joined by Violet Buckle (Annabelle Apsion), Sister Frances (Ella Brocoleri), Nancy Corrigan (Megan Cusack), Millicent Higgins (Georgie Glenn) and Cyril Robinson (Zevryn Tate).

Who are the guest stars?

Mai Tang – April Rae Huang

May is the adopted daughter of Shelagh and Dr. Turner and is played by April Rae Hwang.

April previously starred in A Christmas Number One and Tell Me Everything.

Angela Turner – Alice Brown

Angela is one of Sheila’s children and is played by Alice Brown.

Alice made her acting debut in Call the Midwife.

Mrs. Wallace – Linda Hargreaves

Mrs. Wallace runs the church, which Lucille and Cyril attend, played by Linda Hargreaves.

Linda is a British stage and screen actress known for “Doctors and Containment”.

Teddy Turner – Edward Shaw

Teddy is one of Sheila’s children, played by Edward Shaw.

Timothy Turner – Max Macmillan

Rhoda Mallox is played by Liz White, the 43-year-old actress known for her roles in Life on Mars and Ackley Bridge.

Bernie Mollux – Chris Riley

Bernie plays Chris Riley, a Scottish actor who didn’t start acting until he was 31 years old.

In 2018, he won the BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actor in a Television Drama for his role in BBC’s The Last Post.
