Millions of Netflix fans can cut bills with a simple money-saving trick
You may accidentally overpay for Netflix – which isn’t ideal.
Fortunately, it’s really easy to find out if you’re paying more than your Netflix account odds are.

It’s a great time to do this, as the cost of living and the Christmas shopping season are really upon us.
Netflix has four different plans on offer: Basic With Ads, Basic, Standard, and Premium.
You need to fully understand them to save a little money – each has its own pricing and perks.
to me Basic with ads plan, you pay £4.99 / $6.99 per month.

You’ll get fairly low 480p video quality, and the ability to view Netflix on one device at any time.
But you’ll have to put up with the ads, and you can’t download any content to watch offline.
when it comes to basic Plan, you’ll pay £6.99 / $9.99 per month.
This is the same as Basic With Ads, but you get a completely ad-free experience.
You can download to one supported device at a time.
If you upgrade to standard plan, you’ll pay a higher monthly fee of £10.99 / $15.49.
You now get Full HD 1080p footage, as well as the option to watch or download Netflix content on two devices simultaneously.
Finally there is a file excellent Plan, up to £15.99 / $19.99 per month.
It’s the most luxurious plan, giving you the best video quality available on Netflix right now: 4K Ultra HD.
You also get HDR (or High Dynamic Range), which offers better contrast and a wider range of colors.
You will also be able to watch and download on four different devices simultaneously.
Overpaying for Netflix?
To save money, you need to know if you’re on the right plan.
If you are happy to see ads, you can save a lot of money every month.
And if you only watch TV via the app on a small iPhone screen, you might be perfectly happy with the 480p resolution.
Likewise, if you don’t have a 4K TV and never use more than two devices at once, you shouldn’t be paying for Premium when Standard is best.
And your internet may not be fast enough to stream 4K anyway. Netflix recommends a download speed of at least 25 Mbps.
To check, go to Netflix and search for “Test Forms”.
Run one and look for “3840 x 2160” in the top-right corner: that means you’re getting full 4K.
It is also possible that even if you have an HD laptop screen, you may not be getting the best quality.
Some browsers do not support anything higher than 720p streams for Netflix.
For example, you cannot stream 4K Netflix in Google Chrome even if you have a 4K laptop.
So you may be better off with the Standard or Basic plan.
Also, remember that while sharing your Netflix account isn’t allowed outside of your household, it’s okay to use the same login information in one household.

So you don’t feel forced to have multiple Netflix accounts in one house when you can all split the bill together.
You can change your subscription tier at any time by logging into the Netflix website.
