Best Game Pass Additions of 2022: July

For our next Game Pass 2022 recap, we take a nice look at July, which saw games like Far Cry 5, Watch_Dogs 2, and Inside join the list of titles already stacked in the Game Pass library.

July brought a glut of titles to Game Pass and some contenders for our top games on the Game Pass list. In total, 18 games have joined the service, including two big Ubisoft games, some Indie darlings, a simulator about power washing, and a game about the most annoying pig the world has ever seen. We’ve also seen three games rejoin the service after a brief absence: Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2, all of whom returned to Game Pass to the delight of many with patchy achievement lists.

Escape Academy

Puzzle game Escape Academy brought something somewhat unique to Game Pass in July. With the aim of recreating physical escape rooms in a virtual space, Escape Academy includes over a dozen rooms that have been designed by actual escape room experts and can be played either alone or with friends in a cooperative mode. Ideally, you’ll want to play this game with some friends, as that’s where the magic really comes into play with Escape Academy.

Far Cry 5

The first of two major Ubisoft titles to join Game Pass in July, Far Cry 5 saw players journey to Hope County to take down the doomsday cult Eden’s Gate and its charismatic leader Joseph Seed. Despite being an old title that came out in 2018, it still sticks around today and created quite a stir when it was released on Game Pass at the beginning of the month. Here at TrueAcheivements, the open-world FPS ranks with a stellar community rating of 4.18/5 from nearly 6,000 votes. Want to get a Game Pass? We sure think so!

inside

The interior needs no introduction at all. Playdead’s Inside is one of the best action-adventure puzzle games out there, and it was a huge win for Game Pass subscribers who had never experienced this dark, narrative-driven game. The successor to Limbo, Inside sees you control a young boy who is tracked down in a dystopian world. As you try to avoid the different things in this world that won’t hesitate to kill you, you’ll need to solve environmental puzzles to advance and advance the story. If you’re still playing Inside and you’re a Game Pass subscriber, definitely give this game a try. It’s a relatively short game and has a handy list of achievements if you want to follow a guide.

Watch_Dogs 2

The second big Ubisoft title to join Game Pass in July was Best of Watch Dogs: Watch_Dogs 2. Set in the sunny San Francisco Bay Area, you play young hacker Marcus Holloway who teams up with the hacker group Deadsec to bring down an operating system that is watching people. And manipulate them all over town. While Watch_Dogs and Watch Dogs: Legion are good games, Watch_Dogs 2 stands above them all, thanks to its engaging story, interesting characters, and vastly superior setting. Tonally, Watch_Dogs 2 is brighter and less risqué when compared to the harsh Chicago of the first game and the downtrodden London of Legion, which is why we were delighted to see the second game in the series join Game Pass in July. other games.

As dusk falls

Another rather unique addition joined Game Pass in July with As Dusk Falls. Developed by Interior/Night and published by Xbox Game Studios, As Dusk Falls is described as an “interactive drama” that tells the story of two families whose lives intertwine when a robbery in a small town in Arizona goes wrong. The narrative spanning 30 years is full of tense and pivotal moments that will have you gripping your seat as you grapple in your head with the choice to make, and while the story is a highlight, the pivotal story is excellent, the animation style and great voice acting from the likes of Jane Perry and Ryan Holt really sells this experience.

Agony: Tidal Numenera

InXile Entertainment’s story-rich RPG Torment: Tides of Numenera also joined Game Pass in July. The thematic heir to one of the best RPGs, Planescape: Torment, Torment: Tides of Numenera has a very wild storyline where you explore the Earth a billion years in the future after many civilizations have risen and fallen over time, leaving behind strange traces. For those who are in pursuit of a deep RPG with an epic storyline, interesting companions, and choices that mean something, definitely give this game a chance.
