David Gold lifted the lid on Daniel Krytinski and made a very sensational claim about the Czech billionaire’s West Ham future on board.
Last month marked the first anniversary since Krytinski became West Ham’s second largest shareholder.
The Czech Sphinx paid £150m for 27 per cent West Ham last November and his arrival was expected to allow the Hammers to become bigger and better than before in the transfer market.
That certainly proved to be the case during an unprecedented summer that saw West Ham spend £170m on signings.
Krytinski has been repeatedly linked with the eventual full takeover of West Ham (evening standard). There has been speculation for years that David Sullivan and Gould might stake their stakes in the Hammers in 2023.
There has been a claim and a counterclaim on that front for some time now. The focus around it will undoubtedly increase between now and summer.
Kretinsky has been described as “secret” by several business outlets that track his investments.
And he is certainly not someone to seek the spotlight for West Ham fans who have hardly heard of him since he wrote them an open letter after joining the club.
This led to uncertainty about his plans and ambitions for the Hammers.
But now one of his fellow owners has made a just-in-time Christmas present for the club’s fans.
David Gold lifted the lid on Daniel Krytinski and made a very sensational claim about West Ham’s future with the Czech billionaire on board.
He speaks in a newly added chapter of his autobiographyGold revealed Krytinsky’s nature and will give fans great hope for a bright future.
“There have also been significant board changes this year as we felt it was time to bring in a new investor in Daniel Kretínsky,” he said. Gould says in his autobiography.
“In my view, the decision to bring Daniel in was a look into the future. We felt it was time to get some younger blood on the board. I have been deeply influenced by Daniel in all my dealings with him.
“He is not only a very successful and driven businessman, but he is also a true football fan, with a long-standing connection to Sparta Prague. In the end, Daniel and David Sullivan and I all want the same thing, to build on the success we have had as a club over the past two years, and I believe That with the three of us working together now, we’re in a better position to do so.
“The resources he has at his disposal will undoubtedly be beneficial to the club but more than that I think we have a very intelligent and ambitious new manager. Times are certainly changing and I am excited about where the next stage of the adventure will lead us.”
