The striker finished expertly to continue his impressive form of recent months for club and country
“I think every striker has a number they’d like to try to reach, and for me, it’s to score more than I’ve ever scored in any season,” he said. “I think it’s 22, so, yeah, I need to try to keep scoring goals and impacting matches.”
Rashford looked rejuvenated after coming back from the toughest season of his career, and is enjoying being a key player in Erik ten Hag’s side.
“We have a completely different mentality than last season,” he added. “It’s a different team, so we have to score more goals and win more matches.
When you’re not in the team and you’re coming, that’s a different mindset in terms of thinking about making an impact all the time.
Rashford impressed throughout and looks set to be a key player for United in the months to come
“I’m not quite sure when you’ll get another chance on goal or chance on the pitch so it’s definitely a different way of thinking and a different mindset, but I enjoy what I’m doing.”
After scoring the first goal from a corner kick that was practiced with Christian Eriksen, Rashford said: ‘We worked on it and I’m glad it came out – it was definitely a goal from the training ground.
I’ve spoken to the manager about putting me in the penalty area on corners because I’m usually on edge. I want to be in the penalty area, I want to be where the goals are scored.
Ten Hag has been happy with the way his defense has fared, scoring their 11th clean sheet of the season after having to make a number of changes to the back four.

He said, “They did not play together, and the player (Luke Shaw) never played in the central defense position.” “If you score three and don’t concede any goals, you’re happy with the performance.”
The defeat leaves Forest second from bottom in the Premier League table, and left-hand manager Steve Cooper troubles his side’s defence.
“The goals are lethal in terms of a set piece, as it is clear that some players did not live up to their responsibilities,” Cooper said. “Then we’re half decent in the penalty area and nothing came of it, but then to give up the area and the space we did was really frustrating.”
