‘GLASS FULL’: Gemma Collins insists she ‘don’t need’ Christmas presents this year as she urges loved ones to exchange expensive gifts for charitable donations and a good time

Gemma Collins changed up her usual Christmas routine by cutting the cost for the holidays this year.

The TV personality, 41, revealed this week that she “doesn’t need” lavish gifts and would rather donate money to charity, adding: “My cup is full.”

Taking her own advice on board, the star chose to gift her nearest and dearest with sentimental products rather than exorbitant price tags.

Speaking to The Mirror about the upcoming festivities, Gemma explained that “the little things in life are the most important” while exposing her high-maintenance reputation.

The big day comes amid a cost-of-living crisis in the UK, with many families unable to afford the daily bills, let alone the huge spread.

With that in mind, the TV personality told the publication, “It’s been really hard for a lot of people this year and it’s like just remembering that people don’t always remember what you buy them but they will in a moment. “.

Gemma insisted she did not “need or want” any gift and told her relatives “not to buy me anything”.

Better, and that’s what I said to everyone – donate to an animal charity for me. Even if it’s five pounds. I don’t want anyone to feel pressured this year with all that’s going on. So I’m only doing little things this year that mean more.

Continuing gift-giving on a more sentimental level this year, Gemma set an example for her best friend — who will get framed photos from their trip to Tenerife this Christmas.

But despite the gifts being cut back, the only thing Gemma has spared is Christmas dinner, which will be prepared by a private chef.

The former TOWIE star has hired a chef to prepare food for her family, who will all come to spend a dow together.

Of her 10 expected guests, she added: “I’m looking forward to having all the family around, and we’ve obviously lost all of that with Covid.”

And although special food is served, it will be a very traditional Christmas day for the family – who will sit down to watch some classic TV shows during the day.

The star looks forward to watching favorite UK TV shows like Gavin & Stacey, Only Fools and Horses and EastEnders on the special day.
