The mother of Princess Beatrice’s six-year-old stepson “happy” sent Wolfie to school in the UK

The American mother of Princess Beatrice’s stepson has expressed relief that the six-year-old will be educated in Britain rather than America, as she fears he could become another victim of a school shooting in the United States.

Dara Huang was engaged to interior designer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 39, before he married the king’s niece Princess Beatrice, 34.

Miss Huang, an architect, is grateful that Christopher Wolf Mapelli Mozzie, or “Wolfie” as he is known, is being educated in this country rather than in her native America.

“I’m glad my son doesn’t go to school in the States,” Dara stated online. I can sleep at night knowing he won’t die at his desk tomorrow morning.

Her son was warmly welcomed into the royal family, joining the king and queen on their walk to church at Sandringham on Christmas Day.

There have been more than 600 mass shootings in the United States so far this year and at least 1,500 children have been killed in gun-related incidents.

Miss Huang, 39, was born and raised in America, where her grandfather immigrated from Taiwan. She obtained British citizenship earlier this year.

The architect, who recently appeared in Britain’s Most Expensive Homes on the Channel 4 programme, made the comments after returning to the US for Christmas while Wolfie was at the King’s Norfolk retreat with his father and stepmother.

“I’m not making everything political here, but I went to a sports store in the US for tennis shoes today and couldn’t help but notice this huge section of the gun-after-Christmas sale,” says Dara.

So I went to the guy and said, ‘What do I need to buy a gun for home?’ Do I need a license? And he said, “No, you can buy one now and either take it in a couple of days or take your $50 two-hour ‘hide and carry course’ and bring it home now.”
