Gorka Marquez ‘strictly set to leave’ after seven years on the show

Professional dancer Gorka Marques is said to be leaving Strictly Come Dancing after seven years on the show.

The 32-year-old star narrowly missed out on his third Glitter Ball trophy last week when he came second to celebrity partner Helen Skelton – when Hamza Yassin and Guetta were crowned Prazistall.

The Sun now reports that Gorkha is feeling the itch of seven years and looking for new opportunities after Helen previously claimed that “every pro on the show” was desperate for him to win this year.

A source told the newspaper: ‘He looked really devastated last week because he knew the final might be his last chance to win back the Glitter Ball, which had eluded him twice before.

Gorka has become an established figure in the pageant and a name in his own right, which could allow him to move on to bigger things.

Gorkha looked like a sore loser tonight. Shame because I usually love him.
